Carrying Case

(5 customer reviews)

Montague’s soft-sided bicycle carrying case, made of 420 Denier nylon, provides great protection at an affordable price. The carrying case features an inner pocket for the front wheel, a direct mount shoulder strap, two side handles, double-layered nylon bottom and the heaviest YKK zipper available.

Bought one in sydney because the bike box i use to fly to sydney could not fit into the rented car. The navigator fitted nicely in the bag standing on the folded rack. Took off the rear derailler, pedals and handle bar. Without the pedal and seat the whole bag weghed 15kg. Padded cardboard to the side and bottom. Bag reached KLumpur intact. More convenient than using a box

Definitely makes carrying the bike easier and keeps my car clean when I’m putting it in the trunk or back seat. I’ve also used it to take the bike on the train and it’s nice to hide the fact that it’s a bike. No one questions someone with a bag. Not padded but as a result it folds down very small.

I’ve had the Paratrooper for 12 years now. It’s been great. The soft case is ok as long as its just being handled by me on private planes or in my truck. Almost every time I ship it checked luggage, its gets either a bent front disc or a bent rear de-railer or both. I think Montague used to carry a hard case but I haven’t seen it lately. If they had one, I’d get it.
Otherwise the bag is showing wear and tear for 12 years of use but still holding up.

Adding to my previous review. I cut a piece of 1″ thick closed cell foam to add like a sleeve on both sides of the case. that seems to help quite a bit.
