The model features an all-aluminum frame and full-size 700c wheels, as well as the simple, smooth, and hassle-free Shimano Nexus 8-speed internal gear hub and tool-free Octagon handlebar height adjustment system. The Shimano internal hub means that the Boston 8 has no exposed derailleur that can be bent or otherwise damaged when stashing the bike in a car trunk or boat.
